Efforts are well underway to bring a first-of-its-kind hospice care center to Grand Falls-Windsor.
The Board of Directors for the Lionel Kelland House provided an update today on their efforts to date to kick-start the facility. Bradley Allan says some $1.9-million has already been invested in the 10-room facility, and he says that includes a lot of community support.
The group now has a strategic plan developed, a board of directors, they’re now a registered non-profit group, and will have charitable status in just a few weeks.
Creative elements and architectural designs have been completed, and a hazardous material assessment of the building came back clean. A new website and Facebook page has been launched, too.
