As the holiday season approaches, we invite you to join us in bringing light and comfort to those in need. At Lionel Kelland Hospice, we provide compassionate care to individuals and their families during life’s most challenging moments.

This year, through our Annual Holiday Appeal, we’re asking you to help us “Light the Way for Care” by supporting the vital services we offer. Your generosity will ensure that our residents receive the care they deserve, surrounded by the warmth and love of the season.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Together we can continue to provide exceptional palliative care, and grant the respect and dignity our residents deserve – in a place that feels like home, where traditions can be honoured.

This holiday season, let’s illuminate the path of hope and care for those in their final moments.

“My family and I were fortunate enough to receive the care of the remarkable staff of Lionel Kelland Hospice this summer when my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Our family had less than one month from diagnosis until my father’s passing. Dad made the decision to go to hospice when we were told that treatment was not a viable option. We were taken into the hospice and treated with the utmost care and compassion.”

“The final week of my Dad’s life was spent there and we cannot express our gratitude to the staff of this amazing facility. The staff is truly remarkable and could not do enough for my Dad and our entire family to ensure our comfort. It was my parent’s 56th anniversary the day before my father passed and the staff went above and beyond all expectations by giving our family an experience that we will forever treasure. The sun room was transformed into a beautifully decorated space to celebrate the 56 years my parents had together. A beautiful cake, decorations, flowers and a card with a heartfelt message from the staff adorned the room and surrounded our family with love and support. Every little detail was appreciated, right down to a Banana Split Bar where we could all create our own banana splits (my Mom and Dad told the staff that they used to share banana splits when they were dating – a little fact that we, as their children, didn’t know).”

“My Dad was holding on for their anniversary and passed peacefully away the next day. The memory of their anniversary and what the staff of the Lionel Kelland Hospice did for our family will be a beautiful memory that we will cherish forever. Please consider the Lionel Kelland Hospice as a worthy charity in your Holiday giving this year. There truly is not a place more remarkable or deserving. My hope is that many more families will be able to receive the care and support that our family received during the most difficult time in our lives. We will never be able to express our gratitude for the staff and the Hospice.”
