Donations

PLEASE NOTE THAT DONATIONS ARE ONLY ACCEPTED WEEKLY ON MONDAYS & TUESDAYS.

We do our best to select & price your donations that you generously give to our Boutique.
We gratefully accept all clothing that are clean and FREE of stains, smoke, musty, mildew, moth balls, and body/food odours.

• Clothing – Women, Men, Youth & Children.
• Accessories – Shoes, Scarves, Purses, Jewelry, etc.
• Collectibles, Household goods, dishes, china, crystal, kitchenware.
• Curtains & Tablecloths.
• Books & Board Games – Children’s, soft & hard cover novels.
• Mirrors, paintings, pictures and working lamps.
• Artificial flowers, plants, decorative inside planters, wreaths, etc.

We cannot accept or sell items that are Smoky, musty, mildewed, rusty, stained, chipped, cracked, parts missing, or non-functioning.

Items we DO NOT accept:

• NO Appliances, microwaves, BBQs, electronics, computers or electrical items due to safety.
• NO Mattresses, cribs, booster/car seats, high-chairs due to safety/hygiene.
• NO Sports equipment, safety gates, cameras, projectors/screens, etc., due to safety.
• NO Underclothing, bathrobes, swimwear, unless new with tags.
• NO Bedspreads/duvets, sheets, bed pillows, etc., unless new with tags.
• NO CDs, records, tapes that have been opened due to safety.

Safety Reasons – we do not sell any items that we cannot guarantee are still effective.
Hygiene Reasons – we do not sell any donated items that may present a hygiene risk.

Please remember, to prevent back injuries, donation bags and boxes should not exceed 35lbs or 16kg

Donations of Specialty Items

Donations of Specialty Items are deeply appreciated! Due to their unique value, these items may not be sold in our Hospice Thrift Boutique but instead may be used for online auctions or special fundraisers, helping to generate the highest possible support for our cause.

Donations that are sold are eligible for an income tax receipt based on the amount paid by the customer. Tax receipts are issued by the end of February each year for donations of $25 or more. To ensure you receive your receipt, please complete a donation form and provide your contact information—including your full mailing address and email—when making your donation.

If your contact information changes, please let us know so we can ensure your receipt reaches you without delay.

PLEASE NOTE: When donating to the Hospice Thrift Boutique, pricing of items will be at the staff’s discretion.
