Grand Falls-Windsor: It was announced today that Tim Hortons restaurants in Lewisporte, Grand Falls-Windsor and Bishop’s Falls broke their previous record and Smile Cookies sold at these locations raised a total of $33,742 for Lionel Kelland Hospice.
“We are absolutely thrilled with the results of Smile Cookie 2021,” said Shelley Woolfrey, Chair of the Every Moment Matters campaign. “The efforts of the Tim Hortons management and staff teams, combined with the work of our dedicated volunteers and the generosity of thousands of people in our area have given us this wonderful outcome.” During one week in September, Smile Cookies were sold for one dollar each and all money raised was donated to help create the province’s first residential hospice for end of life care.
Sutherland Investments Inc, owners of the Tim Hortons in Grand Falls-Windsor, Bishop’s Falls and Lewisporte says they are grateful to customers for their participation in Smile Cookie Campaign 2021. Spokesperson, Lorne Sutherland said, “We exceeded our previous record by more than 10%, which is phenomenal and certainly speaks to the high level of community support for Lionel Kelland Hospice.”
Lionel Kelland Hospice will be the first community based residential hospice in Newfoundland and Labrador and will offer the care, dignity and respect that palliative patients deserve and provide supportive programs for their families.
