Bishop’s Falls, NL – A group of passionate volunteers behind the annual Leo Brothers Memorial Softball Classic are making a meaningful impact beyond the ballfield. On Friday, July 17 at 5:00 PM, at the Faulkner Recreation Complex in Bishop’s Falls the tournament committee will present $60,000 in donations to three vital health-related organizations that serve Central Newfoundland.
Thanks to the proceeds raised from past tournaments, the committee will be donating:
- $25,000 to the Lionel Kelland Hospice
- $25,000 to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre
- $10,000 to the Emergency Department at the Central Newfoundland Regional Health Centre
“These organizations provide essential services to our communities, and we’re proud to be able to support them through this event,” says Robert Canning, Chair of the Leo Brothers Memorial Classic Committee. “This tournament continues to be one of the highlights of the summer, and thanks to the incredible support from teams, sponsors, and spectators, we’re able to give back in a big way.”
