Join us for Hike for Hospice 2026!
Since opening our doors in April 2024, Lionel Kelland Hospice has been honoured to provide compassionate end-of-life care to individuals and families from communities throughout Central Newfoundland and Labrador. Every day, we witness the profound impact of having a dedicated 10-bed residential hospice where comfort, dignity, and family-centered support are at the heart of everything we do.
Hike for Hospice is a family-friendly community event that raises vital funds to sustain this essential care. Because of you, families have a peaceful place to gather, share precious moments, and receive the critical support they need during one of life’s most difficult journeys.
We invite you to hike, bike, walk, wheel, kayak, run, do yoga, or simply be active during the week of June 6–13. Choose your own distance or duration and participate in your hometown, at your worksite, or wherever you happen to be.
Teams are also encouraged to come together at our Community Hike event on Saturday, June 6 starting at the Harbour Breton Lions Club on Main Street, Harbour Breton.

Get Involved
Register as an individual, team up with your family, or challenge your co-workers and friends to get involved.
Registration fee of $25 will kick off your fundraising and qualify you to receive your 2026 Hike for Hospice T-Shirt! By registering online, you build your own fundraising page that you can share with your friends and family. Families with children are encouraged to participate (and fundraise), but we don’t expect families to make donations for children under the age of 12. *If you have a child that would like to receive a t-shirt you can register them as a part of your team and pay the $25 fee to receive the shirt.
Fundraise
Reach out to your friends and family for pledges and help us raise funds to ensure residents at Lionel Kelland Hospice receive the care, dignity and respect they deserve. Donations and pledges, no matter how large or small, help create a peaceful home-like environment for people who are in the final stage of their lives.
Participants may track their successes and their team’s progress online.

Community Hike – In Person – June 6
Gather with fellow supporters of Lionel Kelland Hospice for a morning of fresh air, fun, and community spirit! Check in at 10:30 am for a fun-filled hike featuring on-site activities and entertainment for all ages. Whether you’re walking in memory of a loved one or simply showing your support, this day is about coming together for compassionate care in our region. After you’ve completed your hike and worked up an appetite, we’ll enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch hosted by 360 Marine Ltd.!

Do Your Own Thing – June 6 to 13
During the week of June 6 to 13 – just get out and do your thing – anywhere and at any time. While doing your thing, inspire others by snapping a picture and sharing it through social media and tag Lionel Kelland Hospice on Facebook or Instagram.
A reminder to those who plan to participate at your own location – please REGISTER before May 6 to ensure you get your T-Shirt in time!
