(Grand Falls-Windsor) Organizers of the Every Moment Matters Campaign for Lionel Kelland Hospice are humbled and overjoyed today with the announcement of a very significant donation from Grand Falls-Windsor native Brendan Paddick and his wife Renee Vedd-Paddick. The donation represents a major push for the Campaign, and good news for end-of-life care in Newfoundland and Labrador.
With this substantial act of home-town generosity from Brendan Paddick and his wife Renee Vedd-Paddick, Lionel Kelland Hospice is closer than ever to reaching its goal of completing the province’s first community-based hospice. Located in Grand Falls-Windsor, Lionel Kelland Hospice will offer a special kind of health care for those at the end of life, where the goal is to provide comfort and dignity, and the best quality of life possible.
Chair of the Every Moment Matters Campaign, Shelley Woolfrey, expressed her appreciation to the couple saying, “We are so very grateful for this generous gift. Brendan Paddick and Renee Vedd-Paddick have shown great leadership, and we are honoured to have them with us.” Woolfrey added that the couple is known for their philanthropic support, giving to causes around the globe. She said, “The fact that Brendan, one of Grand Falls-Windsor’s own with business interests worldwide, and his wife Renee, have become ambassadors for hospice care right here at home, is truly remarkable.”
The Paddick’s commented, “We are excited to be contributing to such a great cause – and look forward to welcoming residents, families, caregivers and the greater community every time they enter the John and Carol Paddick Lobby of the Lionel Kelland Hospice.”
